The short version. There are no accounts. There is no advertising SDK and no analytics SDK. We do not track you. Your saved places never leave your device. The only personal data ever transmitted is a deliberately coarsened location, used solely to fetch your forecast.
Straight Weather is made by Network Communications of Northwest Florida, Inc. This policy covers the Straight Weather apps for iPhone, Apple Watch and Android, and the website at straightweather.com. It is short because the app does very little with data.
If you choose Use my location, the app asks your device for your position. Before that position is sent anywhere, it is rounded to four decimal places — roughly 11 metres.
The rounded coordinates are sent to straightweather.com as part of the request that returns your forecast. That service stores no position finer than the rounded value it receives, and holds nothing that ties a position to you, because there is no account or identifier to tie it to.
You can use the entire app without granting location access, by searching for a place instead.
Radar map tiles are fetched from RainViewer. Those requests contain map tile coordinates for the region shown on screen — not your position. The map background is drawn by Apple Maps or Google Maps from inside those companies' own SDKs, and is subject to their respective privacy policies.
All of this lives only on your device and is never uploaded. Uninstalling the app removes it. You can clear the stored forecasts at any time from About → Storage → Clear cached forecasts.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, files, calendar, browsing history, advertising identifier or device identifiers. We do not build a profile of you. We do not sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers. We do not send push notifications. There is no background location access.
The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Straight Weather presents forecasts produced by others. The forecast is a blend of the ECMWF, ICON, GFS and HRRR weather models. Straight Weather does not make its own prediction.
The US National Weather Service is the authority for watches, warnings and advisories. Straight Weather is a window onto their feed, not a replacement for it. For anything consequential, go to weather.gov.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
